I think scientists can actually change the world by finding out about an undiscovered item that can be very convenient and helpful to many people around the world. But this doesn't necessarily mean that any scientist can change the world. The scientist would have to be very wise and also it must be a huge change. An impact that will change everyone or most people. A completely redesigned version of something old. Or able to make the thing easier to access.

Scientists may not be able to change the world itself, but they can change the way we live. Thanks to scientists we can live in comfort and happiness. Instead of walking everywhere, we can drive. Instead of having to hunt animals for food and clothing, we can go to the supermarket. When we get sick, we can go to the doctors. Scientists have changed the way we think.
